Making a poo

There are some concerns in our household about what ingredients Mummy puts in her cakes....

Okay.................????? Pauline what are you teaching that child???

Not my post.

Plus I have a theory. I think the childminder must say she's making a brew when making a cup of tea. Alice has maybe morphed that into makin' a poo. Stuart is going to ask her on Monday.

Pauline - that's exactly what I thought she must have meant!!!!! Making a brew - but it certainly sounds good!

Ahhh.... it all makes sense now, when you listen to it she is saying brew, funny wee things, they dont half give you a laugh!

Ah ha!!! Well now, Stuart asked the child minder and she doesn't say "makin' a brew". My other theory is that, Alice was at her wee kitchen and was about to do a poo. She said "makin' a poo" and then did a poo. Which did happen, Stuart tells me. Then the next time Alice was at the kitchen Stuart said, "are you makin'a poo?" because he thought it was so funny. So now when at the kitchen says "makin' a poo". So all Stuart's fault, I reckon!

Well the plot thickens!! If she can tell you she is making a poo then you are well on the way to potty training.

We have been potty training her since she was 9 months old. Every time I changed her nappy I put her on the toilet topper. At around 13-14 months she was doing a poo in the toilet every morning when she woke up and each afternoon after nap. She also wee-ed in the toilet every time I put her on the toilet. I was going to up the training and try to get her nappy free by the end of last summer. Then we went on holiday mid Aug, didn't want to do anything before that. On holiday she lost the momentum and that window closed.

Obviously at the moment things are more tricky. However, the days I have had her in training pants, she has wee-ed in the potty and we haven't had any accidents. She has also asked for the potty a couple of times to do a poo. Twice she did a poo and once she did a bottom bubble (as we call them). I was going to train her in during Feb half term but that didn't happen. Barbara says she is happy to train her, so think I'll have a chat about how I want her to go about it.

I don't think there's any "they're ready" about it, I think they learn it like every other skill we teach them. That's just my opinion though.

PAULINE!!!!!! Too much information my dear. LOL
I'm so glad that David was fully toilet trained when I got him - he always puts the toilet seat down. Ha Ha Ha

Alice would love reading back on that post when she's older, knowing we all had full info on her bowel habits!!!!

Rhoda, I'm afraid as soon as they're born, it's all you talk about, their bowel habits. The difference between bottle fed and breast fed etc... Then toilet training, it becomes all consuming. That's pretty tame!!! I wish Stuart had come to me toilet trained, he still leaves the seat up after 8 and a half years!!!!!

Lisa, I know, when Alice was about 3 weeks old, I was sitting next to someone at church talking about Alice's bowel habits. I said I wonder if I'll still be having this conversation when she's 20!!!! Knowing me I'll be having that conversation when her friends come round when she's 14, just to embarrass her. Tee hee hee, can't wait!!!!!

Just as long as you dont keep that video to show her friends then I think she might forgive you for sharing it with us!!!
