Who's disappeared this time?

Alice really enjoyed Grandpa helping Fraser bear to disappear. So she decided to give it a go herself. I'd ordered some new vests for her for the summer and of course she wanted to wear all of them and only them (and the hat)!!!! Also the park at the top of our street has had a make-over recently and so we went down to check it out. Thankfully the council had it ready for the Easter weekend. It was packed and they've added loads of new things to do. They've got an older kids section and a toddler section. There are some rabbits which live near the park and so Alice wanted to see them. We had to tell her they were asleep today, as they were nowhere in sight.

Plus of all the things Alice got for her birthday, can you guess which was the best present? Yes, you've guessed it, the box the trike came in!!!!

The last part of the video is Alice reading her new book to me. If you don't know "gosh a geeeze" (a squash and a squeeze), it's about an old lady who's house is a squash and a squeeze and she asks a wise old man to help her please. So he tells her to "take a hen" (take in your hen, goat, pig and cow) one at a time. Then at the end he tells her to take them all out again and her house is not a squash and squeeze any more. We think Alice is so funny reading the book because she is actually putting on the voice of the wise old man. Maybe there is a performing streak in there after all. The video is just over three minutes, just to warn you.

Hope you all have a great Easter weekend. Jesus is not on the cross, He is risen indeed.

Awww.....that made me smile! She is sooo cute! When she is on the see-saw animal thing in the park, what is it she is saying? Its weird but Tom says the same thing all the time, I actually thought he had woken up & it was him speaking, they sound exactly the same!

Yes I love the hat too and the way she does the magic trick!! Priceless!!!

I didnt know your daughter could speak danish!! When she is sitting on the wee see-saw thing in the park it sounds like she is saying EN - TOE which in Danish is 1-2! So she can count to two in danish!! haha

Thanks guys. On the see-saw, she's saying "see-saw", then she says Daddy and then not sure. How is Tom's speech coming on?

Laura, have you been skyping with her at night or something?

Actually just looked at the see-saw bit again and I cut it just before she says Daddy. So she is just saying "seeee sawww".

His speech is coming on slowly but surely, thank goodness. He has a small range of words now and he is usually able to get his point across. If he wants something and he doesnt know how to say it he will say 'pleaseahh' (dont know why theres an ahh on the end) and take you by the hand and put your hand up to the thing he wants. He can say drink, papple (apple), pappy (nappy), hyena (ribena, which is what he calls any drink thats not milk), nanny, daddy, potty, pee pee and poo (nice). They are some of the words he uses on a regular basis, other words he will copy when you say them. Oh yes, forgot about all the night garden characters, he can say all of them or an amended version eg 'pines' = pontipines. He cant say the letter m so Im not mummy for some reason Im 'iddy'. Connor said its short for idiot so he got a slap!! Ive tried to get him talking on camera but he shuts up as soon as its on - typical! And he can count to ten in the right order except he cant say seven so it gets left out! But I will keep trying the video camera, its great to be able to look back and see how far they have come on. Alice will love watching the clips of herself when she is older, I know she likes looking at them now, but when she's a good bit older she will love them even more.

Just watched the video:-)

(Lisa I'm not sure she'll love it in years to come, I think she'll be mortified when she sees herself in just her underwear:-)!)

The hat's great.

But it still definitely books and literature Pauline:-)

Lisa that really is great. It's like Pringles, once they pop, they can't stop!!! Alice can't say the letter L, it's hilarious the way she says things like Ellie (her elephant). We've been trying to catch that on camera for ages.

I was showing Alice old video of herself as a new baby the other day. When we got to a bit where she was really crying, she really didn't like it and screamed the place down. She was so upset. I had shut down Picasa and take her away from the computer. She is still talking about the crying baby days later.

Rhoda, it is so interesting watching wee people develop and wonder which way they will end up going, which path she will choose.

You know what they say about never working with children and animals! I think Ive used that saying many times before when trying to get Tom to do something.

Alice reminds me so much of Clara.

I seem to remember you sitting in the YP's on a Sunday night with a blanket over your head Pauline - like Mother like daughter!

Charlene, when Alice was one Jacqui sent over pictures of Claira and Alex when they were one. We tried to work out which one she looked like most and we think it was Claira. What was the blanket on the head incident, it wasn't another one of the Dramas we did? I think you make half this stuff up anyway!!!

Pauline you should have a look at National Geographic website, theres lots of animal videos for kids, Tom loves it, naming all the animals.

Lisa, will have a look. We've been using the Fisher Price website, they have toddler games online and she loves pressing the buttons on the computer.

Alice loooooooves animals, people she could do without, but every time she sees an animal she swings her arms round her middle and says "guggle, guggle, guggle", cuddle. We went to feed the ducks yesterday and she kept shouting "come out, ducks" "guggle, guggle, guggle". We told her that she probably wouldn't want to cuddle the ducks, but she had fun chasing all the dogs instead.

She's not interested in dolls at all, but she loves playing with all her stuffed animals, particularly Fraser bear, who is her best friend. Funny wee things aren't they?

You get some real belly laughs from them dont you? I love it when you see their little personalities starting to form, all their funny little quirks, they are little sponges soaking everything up. Brilliant!
