We took Alice swimming for the first time this week. She wasn't too sure initially, but we put her in a wee inflatable seat where her legs could dangle out the bottom and within a few minutes she seemed to enjoy it. The pool was great because it has communal changing rooms (with cubicles obviously), but it means that when we take her swimming again we can both be dealing with her while one of has a shower etc, rather in different changing rooms. Really great idea.
We went to Bedlington Country Park, not that great, don't think we'll go back but good for a quick stroll. However, we did all get bitten (apart from Alice thankfully), just not much there. This is Daddy keeping a tight hold of Alice close to the river.

We had another trip to Whitehouse Farm to see the "gags" as Alice calls pigs. Of course it's more for Daddy to see the "gags" rather than Alice. She did enjoy being on this tractor and beeping the horn.
When we got back from the farm we got the bubble machine out. Not sure Nana was overly impressed by how sticky the bubbles were.

Really great to see them and for Alice to get to know them more, see you in 5 weeks again!!

Alice loves her bubble machine. Gazillion bubble machine, the bubbles are brilliant. They fly half way down the street.

Hey an idea for Alice to help her remember her grandparents. We did this with our kids. When my mum and dad came we made video´s of them playing with Sara (then as the other kids came along we did the same for them.) When mum and dad went home we would play the video for Sara (usually when I had to make dinner I would stick it on, it kept her amused so i could make dinner, and I would talk to her about it being granny and granddad.) I remember she would sit in front of the TV and laugh so hard - as she watched my mum or dad play silly games with her. She really got to know them through this. Sometimes my mum and dad sent video´s of themselves to the kids. They would talk to the kids through the video. It really helped them get to know their grandparents. My kids have been really close to their grandparents even though they only saw them once and sometimes twice a year.
Looking forward to talking to you live tomorrow night. How do we do this video chat - I dont really understand how it works, but it would be good to try it sometime.

That's a really great idea Laura. We take wee videos of people when they're here anyway and lots of photos. I think she recognised them this time, because the morning they were arriving I was showing her the photos of them on the computer and when we got to Grandpa she pointed to the phone and she did the same when we got to Nana. We talk to them on the phone every Sunday.
We have thought about doing video conferencing with them, so that Alice can see them more often too.
On that note, I think we'll wait until after tomorrow night, actually until after you're back and then try out the video stuff. Stuart will have to be here too to show me how to use it. It sounds more complicated than it is, honest.
Lovely to see pics of your brood Pauline, but have to agree with Laura - none of you! You'll have to learn how to use the timer on the camera! Ha ha. Or are you just like me and avoid cameras.
