Some of you will know that Stuart's dad (Ian) plays in a jazz band and has done so for many years. The other day when Stuart was clearing out some of his stuff (I know, that alone is a miracle) he found one of his harmonicas. So he gave it to Alice and just let her play about with it. Within about a minute she sucking and blowing to play it (without us telling her). The harmonica is an amazing instrument because you make the notes by sucking and blowing. Then she started using her tongue to separate the notes too. Then started stomping (apparently this is a prerequisite for playing jazz) around the place as she was playing and then just wiggled it up and down whilst playing. I caught most of it on video. So enjoy Alice's first foray into the world of harmonica playing. She's a natural!!!!

That was sooo good Pauline! She has talent....a few more years and she will be playing away there with Stuarts dad - bet you he´s all chuffed that she is taking after him:-)
Not sure he's seen the video yet.
We were both very impressed with the way she just started playing it and then kept changing the way she was playing it.
Take a bow Alice - that was brill!
(Earplugs are in the post Pauline)
Well Charlene, you see, Alice wasn't actually taking a bow, she was bending over to clean it on her trousers. As she was playing it again today, I was thinking we might regret giving it to her.
Just like Bob Dylan! What a star. Cate x
I thought she was taking a bow too. Very very well played, but you may be looking for Charlenes ear plugs soon haha!
I was just about to come on and say I think you might yet rue the day that you gave it to her, and saw that you had already said that!
She is very good, and obviously loves it:-)
Well Catherine, of course, I would say more like Van Morrison, who is a brilliant harmonica player.
Today she started moving it up and down purposely to change notes. She may actually be quite musical. She beats her drum in time to music and loves dancing (I think like most children though anyway). Rhoda, you are right she does love it!!! She keeps saying can I have the harmonica and then "video me"!!!
