Dancing, Baking and some delayed snowy pics

Here is our poor wonky snowman. From the previous post, he stayed like this for nearly two weeks.

We did have so much snow, then one night it got a bit warmer and the next day it was nearly all gone.

This is the bowling green at the top of our street.

Alice did enjoy the snow, lots, but it was soooo cold.

I have never walked on snow that has been compacted to create pitted ice, then it snows on top of that and you are walking on layers of ice and snow. Horrible. It was actually OK whilst there was snow to walk on, when the thaw happened, it was horrible because it was so icy. You couldn't actually walk on it at all. Snowing again today though, I doubt we've seen the last of the snow for this winter.

I have started picking Alice up in the afternoons now. I am really enjoying spending more time with her and she seems to be enjoying spending more time with me too. She is just a joy to be with (most of the time) and is very funny. She just gets funnier and funnier. She makes up wee songs about things, makes up her own language (does anyone else know what a Stebby bebby is?) is really getting into singing a lot. Recent favourites are; Twinkle, Twinkle and The Grand Old Duke of York.

The video is pretty self-explanatory. The vacuum cleaner was a Christmas present by Great-aunty Gillian. It comes out quite frequently, when she has made some mess or other. The giraffe she is dancing with is Jenny, who she sleeps with.

Aunt Lilian was here for lunch on Sunday and I was showing her your videos of Alice, she thought they were great. She said Alice really looks like you.

Aw, I'm glad your Aunt Lillian got to see the videos of Alice. I just can't see that Alice looks like me at all, however, Stuart calls us two peas in a pod.

Aunt Lilian thought our blogs were great, she had quite a few 'laugh out load' moments looking at Laura's! Yes, there were a lot of photographs of Alice that she thought were the image of you when you were younger.

Your Aunt Lillian should've left a comment. It would've been great to hear from her.

That's quite distressing that she remembers me that young.

Why distressing? It good to be remembered! It means you had an impact on the person.

Yeah, not always good though. I have been told I have a personality that is not easily forgotten ;-}

Now your being silly, you have a great personality! No more negativity missus!

Pauline Alice is soooo like u:-) But I understand that you cant see it cause people tell me things about my kids, like that sara looks like me and I just cant see it:-)

Oh myyyyyy goodness does Sara look like you Laura, she is your double!!!!! I was showing my mum your blog once and she couldn't get over how like you she is. However, I just can't see it. My mum said that at first she thought Alice looked like Stuart, but now her hair is curly (or curlybap as she calls herself, a nice Norn Irishism there) she says she looks like me.

Lisa, on my first teaching practise I was very quiet for the first few weeks trying to find my feet and learn the ropes as a teacher and Drama etc. At the end of the 6 weeks one of the year 10s (about 15 years old) said to me, "Miss, you were so quiet when you first came and now you're not, what happened?". I said "I've got the type of personality you just can't keep down." Then walked away chuckling to myself.

I thought I had checked this blog this week, and that it hadn't been updated!!

So I was wrong on both counts.

The snow just transforms everything - so beautiful . . . . to look at!

So glad you are able to pick up Alice again - that's great:-)
